American Association of Community Colleges (AACC)
Headquartered in the National Center for Higher Education in Washington, D.C., the AACC is the primary advocacy organization for community colleges at the national level and works closely with directors of state offices to inform and affect state policy.

American College Personnel Association (ACPA)
ACPA supports and fosters college student learning through the generation and dissemination of knowledge, which informs policies, practices and programs for student affairs professionals and the higher education community.

Chronicle of Higher Education
The Chronicle of Higher Education is a source of news, information, and jobs for college and university faculty members and administrators. A subscription to The Chronicle includes access to their website and daily e-mail newsletter. Online, The Chronicle is published every weekday and provides news, advice, and jobs for people in academe.

Council for the Advancement of Standards (CAS)
The CAS has been the pre-eminent force for promoting standards in student affairs, student services, and student development programs since its inception in 1979.

Council for the Study of Community Colleges (CSCC)
The CSCC is an affiliate of the AACC. The purposes of the Council are to contribute to the development of preservice and in-service education for community college professionals, conduct and disseminate research pertaining to community colleges, and serve as a forum for dialogue between university professors, graduate students, and community college practitioners who study community colleges.

Online Student Support Services: A Best Practices Monograph (by the League for Innovation in the Community College)
This issue of Learning Abstracts features the introduction to a free online resource for student services personnel that showcases examples of effective practice in providing services to online students. The monograph was created as a part of the grant-funded Online Student Support@Every College at Tyler Junior College (TX), supported by Carl Perkins Funds provided by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA)
NASPA, student affairs administrators in higher education, is the leading voice for student affairs administration, policy and practice and affirms the commitment of student affairs to educating the whole student and integrating student life and learning. With over 9,400 members at 1,400 campuses, and representing 29 countries, NASPA is the largest professional association for student affairs administrators, faculty and graduate students.

National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy (NC)

Office of Community College Research and Leadership (OCCRL)
The Office of Community College Research and Leadership (OCCRL) was established in 1989 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Our mission is to provide research, leadership, and service to community college educators and assist in improving community college education policy and practice, particularly in the Illinois community college system.

I-Journal
Within the student services arena of the community colleges of California, there is a need to share experiences, perspectives, policies, best practices, and other organizational knowledge that is portable to the colleges within the system. By sharing this knowledge, California Community Colleges hope to enhance communication, improve internal functions, improve management practices among the colleges, and provide better service to students. iJournal is designed for all student services managers and staff and, by intent, provides a platform for them to give voice to timely issues, present ideas, raise questions, and initiate discussion.
